The Busker

Here's the story behind this image..
I was downtown today with Mrs.Billy shopping for holiday gear, you know, lagging behind carrying all the bags, when all of a sudden I found myself ,in all innocence, standing by the women's underwear, now, that's not the place to be,in case an old mate catches you unawares,so I went and sat in the car..
Just then this young guy turns up and starts to play his accordion, puts his cap on the floor, and smiles at everyone passing by..nice enough ,you know...but he only knew one tune..and after about twenty minutes it was starting to drill into my brain,so I popped across the road, gave him some coins, and told him to shift up the road a bit,he just smiled at me and said thankyou in broken English,as he was Romanian,so he couldn't understand me anyway...
Then Mrs.Billy turned up with another twenty five bags, and asked me if I was enjoying the music...I just nodded and drove away...!!!!
Billy...
This shot is a bit of a diversion for me ,and I must thank our buddy Viewfinder http://lookcloser.aminus3.com/image/2008-03-08.html
(king of the character portraits) for the inspiration....

Billy, this is great; a portrait and a story, all in one. I was ROTFL at your nervousness around the ladies' undies. Then the kid and the broken record song -- trying to bribe a minor to move on, and one who understands little English, but knows the coin of the realm and how to get it. Hahahahaha!

Thank you for the nice plug today; I shamelessly appreciate all the plugs I can get. You're a pal!

OMG billy!! You made Mrs billy carry 25 more bags to the car alone???? LOL

Ok, I've picked myself up off the floor from laughing so hard at my joke.

This, my crazy friend (have you been taking your meds??) is just brilliant!! Yes, Brilliant!! The sepia is a great touch especially with that water stain type frame. Old world and new. Brilliant billy!!

I would never have thought a green tint would work so well :) Nice capture of an expressive face!

Aw that's too bad! You should have sort of gestured at him to move away. That seems like an intense shopping spree that Mrs. Billy went on. :) Wonderful capture though, the tint really works well.
