A garden wall from Dyffryn House in Cardiff...
Given a sienna wash,a few "old photo" effects and then framed, using "PaintNet" a small but powerful free alternative to Windows Paint...

Brilliant work again!! Brilliant image! billybrilliant!!

Must check out this "PaintNet" but what are you using for the "old photo" effects and for the sienna wash? My Welsh ain't what it used to be... how is the double "f" pronounced? Is that the "v" sound? I know there's a double letter that's for the "th"...

@amy: yo cutes...I used Picasa for the first processing steps...selective focus and added a few pinches of film-grain....
opened the image in Paintnet and added the border and used curves to bump up the contrast a touch...I also use this programme to add my signature...it's so simple...
o.k. pal..Welsh lesson no.1...."ff" is pronounced as "f"..no change there then...
As in ffenister(window)...the double letter for "th" is "ll" but that baby takes years of skill to avoid spitting over everybody*-))....glad to help...

Good'ol Uncle Billy! Love th effect here a lot,the soft touch at the edges and the 'burnt' edges look.Fantastic!Gives me a feeling of adventure that i can perhaps find some treasure among the trees or in the ruins of the building and i will have enough fortune to last me a lifetime, help my hub to retire at forty, provide education for my kids till PhD,have another dozen of children till i get a girl, buy a 2 million-dollar house by the sea and go tour around the world 5 times. How's that sound?Look what you've done!LOL

Hi! Lovely job billyboyo! I think I will look for that "PaintNet" too - sure like the effect! Have started posting some of our mountains - no particular mountain on the first one - but after that lookout - have posted the elevations too so Lord Snowdon is going to have to apologize - keep up the good work! ;-)
